Noah, The Third Day - 1974

I AM INTERESTED IN MANAGING COMPLEXITY, CHAOS OR, AS IN THE CASE OF THIS PIECE--FLOATING SERENELY ON THE SURFACE OF TURMOIL.

OF SIZE & SIMPLICITY #2; 2010; MIXED MEDIA

Leslie Alfin is an installation artist who investigates the paradoxical impacts of a techno-driven economy on individuals, society, culture, environment and the greater biosphere.

Rhetorical questions are explored through the development of resilient installations and drawings (2D/3D/4D) that, through size, form, and content provide viewers with a somatic experience that demonstrates various states of complexity and  adaptation through the exchange and recycling of information, materials, and contexts.

It is in this way that the work narrates, models and integrates our understanding of humanity within the complex adaptive systems that drive and define contemporary contexts.

Leslie works in her studios in Brooklyn, New York.
