SUMMARY:Creating a Sacred Space to Honor Your Grief
DESCRIPTION:Grief is a natural response to change\, and each person’s experience is unique. This workshop offers a calm\, supportive space to pause\, reflect\, and be present with grief as it unfolds. \nThrough conversation\, guided meditation\, journaling\, and shared reflection\, participants will explore the practice of creating a personal altar—an intentional space that can serve as a steady touchstone for acknowledging and holding grief. Altars have long been used across cultures as places to witness what matters\, to mark transition\, and to stay connected to inner experience. \nOur time together will include: \n\nAn overview of how altars have been used by different cultures over time\nA guided meditation to help you connect with where you are in your grief journey right now\nTime for journaling or drawing to reflect on what emerges during the meditation\nA gathering of ideas and inspiration for creating an altar that feels meaningful to you\nAn opportunity to share your experience\, as much or as little as you choose\n\nThis workshop welcomes grief in all its forms—whether recent or long held\, clear or undefined. You are invited to arrive just as you are\, and to move at your own pace. \nAll are welcome\, regardless of where you are in your grief journey. \nNancy Gruskay is a mentor\, facilitator\, and trustworthy guide who offers a sanctuary for navigating life’s transitions\, including illness\, aging\, and grief. Her work centers on creating room for clarity\, insight\, and practical tools that can bring greater ease and steadiness during times of change. \nShe is a Waldorf educator of 30 years\, a mother of two grown children\, and a Mindful Grieving Facilitator. Her life and work are guided by the values of connection\, presence\, and deep listening.  \nHer calling to grief work grew from lived experience. Within a single year\, Nancy\, her mother\, and her sister were all diagnosed with cancer. While caring for two young children\, continuing her teaching\, managing her own treatment\, and being present for her family\, grief became woven into daily life. Through community support and intentional presence\, she learned the value of being witnessed and supported. \nLearn more at nancygruskay.com.
